Free Lunch
Chrissy McMillan of Grondins was my hairdresser (she does a GREAT job), and she told me that she has a husband who loves performing little random acts of kindness.
Chrissy and her husband went out to lunch to celebrate their 7th anniversary and the news that in December, they would be blessed with a little bundle of joy. During lunch Chrissy’s husband noticed an older lady who appeared to be in her 90’s eating all alone. He said, to Chrissy, “I can’t help it I just want to pay for her lunch”.
Chrissy’s husband secretly paid for the woman’s lunch. They watched the lady’s face as the waitress explained to her; a little birdie just paid for your lunch. The lady’s face told them she was shocked, but also told them that she was happy to receive the gift of an unselfish act of kindness.
What is even more amazing about this random act of kindness is that Chrissy’s husband just left his 2 part-time jobs because he became a full-time college student, and thus, money would soon be tight for Chrissy and her husband.
But Chrissy reports it was worth it just to see this older lady’s smile.
